Grants and Marketing Manager

Hours: 9:00-5:00 with occasional evenings or weekends as needed
Reports to: Director of Advancement & External Communications
Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 with sign on bonus

Position Summary

Position Summary: The Grants & Marketing Manager helps lead the grants and marketing process. With the goal of securing new grants and expanding the agency’s base of followers and donors the role will split between the activities of grant writing and assisting in the promotional awareness and social marketing activities.

This position will co-lead our external communications and produce high-quality content that engages funders, sponsors, and participants, and builds organizational brand recognition. Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with brilliant presentation and organizational skills.

Duties

Grant Writer Responsibilities (70%):

  • Develop and follow proposal-writing procedures and standards.
  • Manage submission timeline for grants and follow-up reports.
  • Writes, revises, and edits drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.
  • Gathers information and documentation for grant proposals, coordinate submissions and collections, and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
  • Research new grant funding opportunities.
  • Maintain records and documentation of foundation relations in CRM database and on a shared development drive.

Marketing Responsibilities (30%):

  • Research, write, and collect stories and photographs from the program team.
  • Create informative and interesting press releases, press kits, newsletters, and related marketing materials such as bylined articles, white papers, print and digital content and website management.
  • Manage social media presence and online advertising campaigns (including website, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads, and YouTube)
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and effective communication strategies in collaboration with the Director of Advancement and External Communications designed to build community engagement and program/brand awareness.
  • Update company website with new content following SEO practices.
  • Support fundraising and community events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualities & Preferred Skills

Qualities and Preferred Skills:

  • Keen listener, detail-oriented, able to multi-task. Must thrive working independently while enjoying collaborating with staff and vendors.
  • Proven project management skills. Significant experience managing freelance writers, graphic designers, and videographers. Proficiency in digital marketing (content, systems, campaigns, measurement).
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO), web analytics (Google Analytics) and Google AdWords, content management tools (WordPress), and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Experience with digital design tools: Adobe InDesign/Lightroom/Photoshop/Canva/Adobe Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro/Social Pilot/Microsoft Office Suite/Dropbox/Google Suite.
  • Critical thinking skills are essential. Highly flexible, organized, and able to prioritize the urgent and important. Respectful, not easily flustered, mature, good-natured.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or comparable life experience.
  • Previous experience as a grant writer preferred. Ideally in a social service organization or other complex nonprofit with multiple constituencies and programs.
